There IS a way to reverse this madness. At a Public Radio Conference in St. Louis in 1988 during a session with FCC officials, I proposed that
translators could be fed by any means possible -- but only to locations within a 250 mile radius of the station of origination (associate stations fed
by a station out-of-state/beyond 250 miles could not feed translators unless the associate station had a minimum of 5 full-time employees engaged in
on-air programming (the five full-time employee requirement would then reflect membership rules for public station membership with the Corporation for
Public Broadcasting). Wages for the 5 employees would have to conform to local market wages for radio stations.
Of course, the FCC at the time wanted to hear nothing of this. We were in the beginnings of the de-regulation roller coaster for broadcasting. When
Uncle Newt came along a few years later, all he did was pour gasoline on the fire, while "slick Willie" stood back and did nothing to stop it. Keep
this in mind, the next time you hear unchallenged propaganda over the "public's" airwaves.
Community service is the key to taking down these intrusive religious zealots. No, we don't HAVE to listen, but they are keeping a lot of communities
around the country from having sound alternative listening choices on their radios. This condition is only accelerating the death of radio.

That sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, I don't think there are 5 full time honest to goodness programming employees left at wilks, KBNO, max
media, NRC or anything that's not CC, LFM or ETM. Salem?..I don't think anyone has 5 full time staffers per station.
Apart to point out how ridiculous things have gotten, I say that to say this: while the religious broadcasters abuse the non-commercial status they're
given, they're no worse than the cheap small commercial broadcaster or the cheap large corporate broadcaster: the industry is screwed by design.

The stupid forum software cut off some of RadioDude's url link info...
(Update: url BB codes barf on https links, cut and paste the url...)
Dude's link to FCC application
| Code: |
https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?context=25&appn=101391695&formid=350&fac_num=140231
|
Use one of the BB codes for URL when posting links that contain data (have ? and = characters)...

And of course the #$@% thing still doesn't work... You might have to be on the FCC site with the correct security cookie to go to the
page...
As for me, I'm going to eat my (lunch) cookie...

Grrr. I'm using Vista and it's just not coming up. I also get the blank form when I try to open it in AOL. So I may have to try my daughter's laptop.
This is totally weird.

WIll I just found out by driving down W. Mulberry heading East, I tuned into 93.7 just to see what was there or if Klove was still on that frequency
and I found out. It is and it hardly comes in up in fort collins. So I am guessing it is near Denver, but why would vick want to do this?

If someone is trying to put a station on 93.7, wouldn't it be possible that they are simply testing equipment and a KLOVE signal is bleeding over???
If they are not running programming it may seem like it is only a KLOVE signal..... I mean the station has gone on and off numerous times over the
last couple of days, seems like a logical reason.

Dude and Duder:
Don't get ruder.
Had to edit your posts
At my compuder.
Cyber-bullying
Doesn't make the gradio.
So let's play nice
And just talk radio!
If you guys don't cool it,
With these back-and-forth crimes
You'll have to read more
Of my insipid rhymes!

No "Cyber-bullying" here....just tired of reading the same posts over and over again when there are other logical reasons out there.
Nice poem though!!!

Ok I got the response that I was waiting for from KLOVE.. and it seems like they are the ones that gave the owner of that transmitter permission at no
cost to Klove to rebroadcast their station

Yep I did. Also, I don't know who's on there now but I just heard him say they will be simulcasting 24/7 on 93.7.

Yep, just noticed that today.
Great move by MHSR! Glad they didn't want to put Avs and Nuggets fans through another season of crappy radio signals.
