Great move by MHSR! Glad they didn't want to put Avs and Nuggets fans through another season of crappy radio signals.

Like i mentioned on the other fourm, this repeater is owned by a different person not by MHSR at all. The owner of the repeater must be getting paid by them to have them transmit their signal to his transmitter. I don't see 87.7 being a threat to anyone actually. Radio receivers for cars would have to start to go below 87.9, and I know for a fact there isn;t many new ones that doesn't go below 87.9 at all.

Are you really at this again??? My car ('08 jeep) and my wife's car ('10 Honda) both get go down to 87.7. My old car ('05 Chevy) also went down to this frequency. Though I agree this is an unconventional frequency for a commercial station, most factory stereos do in fact pick up the station....so I know for a FACT that you are wrong.

OH GOOD for you, your basing the fact on your two cars? Damn, I guess that means every other radio goes down to 87.7? My mistake mr know it all!
DUder your dumb, and you just proved it for me! JUst because your and your wife's car radio goes down to 87.7 doesn;t mean everyone elses does! I can;t belelive how dumb you are on this! IF you want to prove something go and look around and found other older and newer cars and see if their radio goes down to 87.7.

Actually my point was simple....which I know is hard for you to grasp. I named off THREE different auto makers (not two....try counting), Jeep, Honda and Chevy. All of those vehicles were able to pick up 87.7. And like most auto makers they put the same style of radio in their cars....therefore all Chryslers (jeep) have the same radio, all GM (chevy) vehicles have the same radio, and all Honda's and Acura's (same company) have the same radios. That is large portion of the cars sold in the Denver metro..and ALL can pick up 87.7.

But just to make sure you can understand here are the vehicles these companies manufacture:

GM
Chevy
Buick
GMC
Cadillac
Saturn
Hummer
Pontiac (no longer in production....but a GM car)

Chrysler
Chrysler
Jeep
Dodge

Honda and Acura are the same company

Funny how you want me to prove my point (which I did) and you have yet to give one example of how you know "for a fact" than most new cars do not get the station...seems the DUMB one in this conversation is you.

I've got a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am and it does down to 87.7 as well. Stumbled across the Channel 6 broadcast by accident one day while station surfing.

But, who really cares? This is now the fact that The Fan has a very serious competitor in town!

Just checked and MHSR is still there. Their audio is over-driven and distorted, particularly during breaks. The audio on 1510 is clean and crisp by comparison.

I about drove into a ditch laughing as I heard Gil talk about all of the success MHSR has had since they signed on. He claims that they will continue to kick @ss & take names with all of the improvements that the station has just made. I suspect that his bored op and the stations 17 listeners wholeheartedly agree.

According to MHSR's Twitter looks like the simulcast is here to stay. This is what it said.

Mile High Sports Radio - Now broadcasting on FM 93.7 AND AM 1510. Whatever side of the dial you're on, Mile High Sports has you covered!

It is interesting at least to me that you all think that 87.7 the ticket is going to give 104.3 The Fan some compatiton. I don't think so, at all.. Because why would anyone want to go all the way down the FM dial to listen to sports when they can easily tune in 104.3? For the AM side, who knows sure 1600 sucks and it is hard to hear but for any station that is that far down the FM dial and where some (like my Permier radio which doesn't go down that far and I am sure some others don't either regardless of what mr known it all (Duder) thinks) would be hard to compete with someone way up on the dial, and what would make some important teams leave one station and go towards 87.7?
What would be the bennifit in that anyways? 104.3 can be heard even up here 87.7 doesn't come in clear to northern colorado, well at least in fort collins. Some radios don't even go down that far and interesting side note.. On the FCC database site it starts at 87.9 and doesn't even include 87.7 frequency even though I have found out that by cooling 87.7 there are tons of stations on that dial but the FCC doesn't even recongize it in their own database. Humm interesting.
But seriously for the ticket to give 104.3 or any other sports station some major compatatiion they need to move up to at least 87.9 to where it can come in loud and clear for everyone that has radios that doesn't go down to 87.7. I am glad that alot of you even (duder) has suck radios that does go down that far. But for those that don't can;t tune into 87.7 and yes (DUDER) there are radios that don;t go down that far and I don't need to prove it to you.

Will thats good, once again people up north here can't pick them up at all! At least from Longmont to Denver they can hear them.

Actually, no one has made the case that 87.7 is going to be a threat to 104.3....even I said that 87.7 is going after a small market share and it was a bad idea. Looking through this thread I really can't find one post that states clearly that 87.7 will beat the Fan. I think you are making things up again....as usual.

And to make it clear, so you can stop your whining about how the radio in your 1985 chevy celebrity does not get 87.7, I was responding to your post saying most new cars do not have radios that go down to 87.7. I agree that older cars radios may not be able to pick it up....but you stated that you knew "FOR A FACT" that most new cars do not have the ability to pick up 87.7.....you have been proven wrong....over and over again.

Here's the bottom line for me. When KKFN was on 950 khz, was the only full-time sports-talk station in town, and had Avs and Nuggets play-by-play, it could still manage only about a 2.4 overall share at best. So now we have 104.3, 1510/93.7, 1600 and 87.7 all fighting for the same tiny piece of the pie. Something's gotta give.

BTW, Chris, my greenie luberal Prius gets 58 mpg highway and 46 city! How about you? :)
