Hal and Charley together again -- briefly
Hal Moore and Charley Martin ruled Denver's morning-drive radio for decades, back when KHOW was a MOR (then middle-of-the-road, now AC) station. It
flipped to talk in 1995.
From what I hear, it was quite a treat to hear them back together this morning on KRWZ "Cruisin' Oldies 950." Charley was visiting from Phoenix and
sat in on Hal's show.
If you've ever seen the Jack Nicholson movie "The Shining," you might remember hearing Hal and Charley doing their KHOW show on a car radio as it
headed for the hotel through the snow.

A couple of years ago a friend played me some "Charley and Barney" KHOW airchecks. I believe these may have been PRE-"Hotdog" Hal as IIRC they were
from around '71 or '72. "Barney" was appearently female.
"Peace by 2020, with or without people".

Yep, that was pre-Hal. I believe that "Barney" was actually named Rosemary Barnwell. I seem to recall that she'd been an air waitress before getting
the KHOW job.
